About Our Chef

Chef Marcell was born and raised in Dayton Ohio. His family would always cook feasts for almost every holiday. Marcell’s dad would smoke and cook the meats and mom would make the sides and salads. Growing up on a lot of southern, comfort food which tends to be his North Star when cooking. He attended Sullivan University in Louisville Kentucky for culinary school and worked there for years at various hotels and restaurants. Working at the brown hotel and Bucks restaurant were two fundamental experiences I had. Marcell moved to Chicago in 2017 mostly working at the Gwen Hotel and a few other places. In his free time, he enjoys listening to podcast, self-help books, weightlifting, video games, or a good scary movie.
