About Us

 

Oak Park Banquets is a fully owned subsidiary of the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and owners of the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association. All proceeds from the event rentals and catering at the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association benefit our mission to strengthen our community through learning, giving, and sharing our landmark building.  Visit the Nineteenth Century website to learn more about the work they do.

Location and Parking

Just a few miles west of Chicago’s Loop, beautiful and historic downtown Oak Park is ideally situated for your event.  The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association is located on Forest Ave, just one-half block from Lake Street and is within walking distance of the Green Line.  A large public parking garage is adjacent to the event space, offering convenience and peace of mind for your guests.

Sales Manager - John “Woody” Linton

John “Woody” Linton started cooking at the age of 14 in his hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Upon graduation, he sought out Hyde Park to attend the Culinary Institute of America. His first landing was in Scottsdale, working at the award-winning restaurant Vu, with Chef William Bradley. Following this milestone, Woody helped open The Alto Ristorante at the Hyatt Regency, Scottsdale. John has also worked at Lake Park Bistro in Milwaukee, the Bohemian Grove in Northern California, and seasonally at the Talon Lodge in Sitka, Alaska, as their Executive Chef.

He opened and acted as Executive Chef of Hearth Restaurant in Evanston for several years. He helps out Venge Vineyards in Calistoga, California and was the Catering Chef at Oak Park Banquets and the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association in Oak Park.

Woody has been with The Nineteenth Century/Oak Park Banquets event team for over 12 years and transitioned from the kitchen to sales manager in 2019.

Event Manager - Ryan McClory

Ryan McClory brings over 25 years of food and beverage experience and knowledge to the 19th Century.  Ryan’s background in the industry includes fine dining restaurant management, boutique hotel banquet captain, wedding coordinator and private event and catering management. 

Ryan’s commitment and desire to provide the ultimate guest experience is marked through his attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, spectacular customer service, and his overall caring and genuine attitude. He has been with our team for over 8 years,

Ryan resides in the Oak Park area with his husband. He’s a diehard Cubs fan, enjoys gardening in his yard and golfing in his free time (he just got his first hole-in-one!).
